Instant death? Empty Instant death?

I just tried my first experiment and unfogged the egg (OiZDr) when it hit 0 hours at 6:53 pm. I tried to put it in some click sites, but none of them were accepting it, so I checked my scroll and the egg had died. I have no idea why; I've been told that when it hits 0 hours it has 30 minutes left, and it was alive when I unfogged it, but it died almost instantly after unhidden. I didn't have any time to put it in click sites. Has this happened to anyone else, and does anyone know what I can do to prevent this from happening in the future?
